ABOUT ME
I'm an award-winning librarian, writer, speaker and diversity and inclusion activist.

I have almost a decade's experience in higher education, ranging from academic librarian roles, to working as a Human Resources Professional and researcher.
MY SPECIALTIES
OPEN EDUCATIONAL PRACTICE
I support academics in publishing open textbooks and implementing open educational practices (OEP) into their courses. I've designed over 20 open textbooks (see the entire catalogue).

I've also published my own guide on Enhancing Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) in Open Educational Resources (OER), which was voted one of Pressbook's favourite OER for 2022.

I've won a number of awards for my work in open education including the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion, and more recently the Australian Award for University Teaching citation for contribution to student learning.

I've also been a program consultant for the Council of Australian Unviesrity Librarians (CAUL) OER Professional Development Program, and am currently the co-editor of the Australian OEP digest.
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
I'm disabled and deaf and speak nationally about issues relating to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.
My advocacy for diversity and inclusion has been featured in The Australian, JobAccess’s EmployAbility initiative, and in several library and information studies courses across Australian universities.
I've received several awards including UniSQ’s Head of School Award for Excellence in Education for my work on creating accessible and inclusive digital learning environments for blind and visually-impaired students; and the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion.
